I’ve thought about starting a blog since I first moved 1200 miles from home in an effort for family and friends to keep up with my adventures. It only took me almost two and a half years to get things started but at last, here I am!
A little about me…
I grew up in rural northeastern North Carolina and spent the first 24 years of my life living in a 120 mile radius of where I grew up. I think the Outer Banks is one of the greatest places on earth and cannot be convinced otherwise. I attended N.C. State where I received my Bachelors of Science in Animal Science (2010) and Masters of Animal Science (2012). Go Pack! I worked as a veterinary technician for 8 years before moving to the great state of Texas where I currently reside. I originally moved to Texas to work for Texas A&M University but I still have no idea what an Aggie is. I now live in North Texas with my boyfriend, who is a firefighter/paramedic, and our 3 dogs and I am currently working in the field of genetic immunology.
Things I love…
I love North Carolina and a part of my heart will always be there. I love hunting, fishing, and most outdoor activities in general. I am the happiest and most peaceful when sitting on a beach at the Outer Banks. I love baking, cooking and pretty much all food. While I do try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, donuts are my weakness and I think it is a sin to pass up the “hot sign” at Krispy Kreme. I am very much a home body and most of the time I am perfectly content just spending time with my dogs and boyfriend. However, I do love to travel and try to take as many trips as the budget allows! I have a 3 year love affair with CrossFit and I am currently a member at CrossFit972. As a southern girl it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I love Jesus and my family. I am also a huge fan of wine, margaritas and Tex-Mex. Dudley is my 8 year old Boston Terrier and the absolute love of my life. I am also pretty fond of Krieger, a 4 year old Deutsch-Drahthaar and Baron, a 6 month old Deustch-Kurzhaar. (They are not German Wirehaired and Shorthaired Pointers.)
Hopefully I will be able to use this blog to keep up with this ever changing ride that is my life and hopefully it won’t be a huge bore for anyone that chooses to read it. 😉
